Oh wow...an update!

YES...I am still alive.  My surgery went very well on May 11th.  She did have to remove some scar tissue from my gall bladder surgery I had back when I was 17 but other than that everything went perfectly.

Apparently I was busting out some Bee Gee's while I was under anesthesia.  Steve (the hubby) took a video and I might just have to upload it because it is quite hysterical.  I'm proud to say that I was in fact singing on key...GO ME!! :D

Anywho, I was in the hospital from Wednesday until Saturday, came home Saturday afternoon only to return quite dehydrated and with very low potassium the next Monday.  They loaded me up with fluids and sent me on my way only after I had to drink potassium and I don't know if any of you have EVER had to DRINK potassium but let me tell you, it is the vilest thing I have ever had to drink in my life.  I do NOT want a repeat performance of THAT!

SO, I was doing pretty good for a while there and then WHAM-O...I think I honestly must have caught a little bug and there was mucho vomiting and unpleasantness which landed me back in the ER that following Friday.

WELL, I had a Cat Scan of my tummy because they were worried I had a leak AND my potassium was dangerously low again.  This time, they gave it to me by IV because they ended up admitting me because they said I had a leak.  SO, that meant I could have NOTHING by mouth at all.  All I was allowed to do was put a tiny piece of ice in my mouth and let it melt. My arms are bruised all up from all the blood draws and IVs AND they tried to put in a PICC line to get me nutrition but those efforts failed as my veins refused to cooperate.

ALL of this only for MY doctor to come in Tuesday and tell me the tests had been misread and I had been misdiagnosed.  OH...did I mention the doc that admitted me was a total douchebag??  He was SO rude to me on the phone.  I felt like I was dying and I do NOT exaggerate when it comes to health.

SO, basically I was starved for 4 days for nothing but I did get rehydrated and my potassium back up.

How am I feeling now?  Well, I'm doing okay.  I saw my surgeon today for my four week check up and all is well.  She took me off two meds...YAY...less to take now!  Happy about that.  All's on track.  I've lost 45 pounds since May 11, 2011 and the 20 I lost before that in the month before surgery means 65 pounds total!! :D  YAYYYYYYYYYYYY! :D

I'm walking every day and the only problem I'm having now is getting all my protein in but I'm going to start back with that now.  Dietician said that is VERY important for muscle mass and stuffs SO...anyway.  That's the wrap up.
