SO, I had all my pre-op testing done yesterday. I had to drink some awful stuff to test for H-Pylori but at least it was a quick drink.
So, I drank that nasty stuff, got 9 vials of blood taken (from my hand because she couldn't find another vein), peed in a cup...GOOD TIMES and from there went to have an EKG and be schooled on how to use my Incentive Spectrometer as well as do breathing tests. THEN...I sat with a nurse for almost an hour going over my entire life history. I was impressed with myself at remembering all the dates of everything. GO ME!
Then, I went to have my chest x-ray and upper GI. NOT so much fun. I had to swallow down these SOUR crystal like things with ONE ounce of water and then take two gulps of well...cement/chalk. I then had to stand and NOT BURP...which this stuff makes you do...while she took the pictures and then I drank the rest of that nasty stuff. I just stood their praying for strength and thinking of sweet Lillian and all she endures with testing and things. It really got me through it.
After that I went to see their Doc for a "physical". I really dealt with the Nurse Practitioner. Can I just say...God bless, but I'd rather see a DOCTOR. Cuz this NP rattled off a ton of things she said I would need to do only to be followed by the doctor who basically nixed over half the stuff she said.
Dr. Corea did put me on Metoporal and Zocor as a precaution for heart health and cholesterol. They are worried about me having a heart issue. SO, I'm going to the cardiologist Friday at 8am and will probably have a stress test. THEN, I have to have a sleep study Friday night to test for Sleep Apnea.
